The mambembe group was created more than 40 years ago, in the 1970s, by Carlos Gomide, Babau,a disciple of master puppeteers from the traditional northeast, who fell in love with a girl with big full skirts and went on an adventure with her. for art and for life. In the spectacle of life, the eight children were born, all grown up on the road, each with a different talent for discovering the world, all with their hearts somewhere inside skipping the revelry of the masters, the song of the traditions. Each boy who came into the world was to inaugurate a new scene in the spectacle of life. The first edition of the book, illustrated from the Gomide family's trunk of photographs, also includes a second volume, entitled Porta-Retratos, with images of the troupe and a profile of each member.
